Why you should travel solo
Why you should travel solo
- You will get to know yourself better
- You will be forced out of your comfort zone Everything you’ve ever dreamed of is just outside your comfort zone. You have probably heard it time and time again – and you know what – it’s true! Stepping into the big wild world on your own is daunting at best. If you are brave enough to do it, you will learn to overcome your fears and you will experience
- You will connect with local people on another level When you’re on your own, local people in the country you are travelling with will be less intimidated in approaching you. They will be curious as to why you are on your own and will be more inclined to invite you into their homes and into their lives.
- You will meet incredible people I’m constantly asked if I ever get lonely when embarking on a solo travel trip. The truth is, you’ll never be lonely. You’ll be meeting new people constantly who will become lifelong friends.
- You will become braver and bolder Before many people embark on a solo travel adventure they are scared, nervous and anxious. Who will you have dinner with? People will think you have no friends! It is normal to be nervous the first time you step out the door on your own. As soon as you do, you will realize that these worries were unfounded. Travelling solo will boost your confidence and you will become a bolder and braver person.
- You will learn how to be a leader You will be forced to make decisions. There will be no one else to make them and you alone will bear the consequences. You will learn to make good choices on where to eat, what to do, what to see and who to make friends with. As your confidence grows and you gain more experience, others will naturally start to follow you.
- You will have time to reflect on the things that matter the most in your life When you are on the road, you will have a lot of time to reflect. You will realize the people who matter the most to you because they’ll be the ones you miss the most. You will have time to reflect on your life without any interference or pressure from society, friends or family. You will have the space to figure out who and what matters most to you.
- You can do and see exactly what you want There’s no drama when you are travelling solo. You can see and do exactly what you want without needing to take anyone else’s preferences into account. You can wake up exactly when you want to, eat what you want to eat and sleep where you want to sleep.
- You will find your inner peace Travelling alone means spending a significant amount of time alone. You will have plenty of time to think about any problems you may have without any interference.
- You’ll return a different person
