About this travel blog

This travel blog is written for those who wish to see beyond the tourist attractions. It’s for those who wish not only to see, but also to connect, experience and understand the country they are travelling in. I hope that this blog will not only provide you with useful and practical information, but also share with you my own insights into unknown and foreign cultures, people, animals and places. For now this travel blog will primarily focus on my travel experiences in China, but I hope it will expand very soon!

Why Feral Zoe?

Feral:
in a wild state, especially after escape from captivity or domestication.

In my opinion, office life and the daily grind is the equivalent to captivity or domestication. When I am travelling, I feel truly free. I hope that this blog will provide insight into the more wild and off the beaten track locations, thus the theme: wild travel. When I was researching and thinking about what to call my blog, the name Feral Zoe just stuck!

Who is Feral Zoe?

Solo female traveller, adventurer and photographer

I am a solo female adventurist and photographer. I occasionally travel with my mother. But, this

blog is not supposed to be a personal diary of my stories on the road. This blog focuses more on

useful information, experiences, people and places in order to help other vagabonds along their

way.

Why the obsession with all things wild?

Wild:

1) (Of an animal or plant) living or growing in the natural environment; not domesticated or cultivated

2) (Of a place or region) uninhabited, uncultivated, or inhospitable:

3) (Of people) not civilized; primitive: lacking discipline or restraint.

What kinds of travel does this blog cover?

I focus on wild travel. As described above, I like to think that this includes engaging with local people, animals or flora and places on a whole new level. Wild travel covers adventure travel, budget travel, cultural travel, useful information, guides and details of places which are more off the beaten track.

Get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!
